Ã ' Regularly monitor media and local situation regarding UNHCR
Ã ' Compile and distribute a daily news clipping service.
Ã ' Follow-up on administrative and logistical arrangements to organize press briefings and other events, such as workshop and conferences
Ã ' Develop a strategy for working with media outlets, including regular meetings with editors, workshops for journalists, communication alliances with media outlets, and regular media tours for UNHCR's key dates and events.
Ã ' Develop outreach strategies and communication partnerships with influencers and the private sector.
Ã ' Support interagency communication activities such as R4V, SART, Inclusive Cities, among others.
Ã ' Develop photographic coverage of the Representation's meetings and events.
Ã ' Perform other related duties as required.
Monitoring and Progress Controls
Ã ' News clipping services is distributed daily among staff.
Ã ' UNHCR is reflected regularly in local and national news.
Ã ' New alliances with media are signed.
Ã ' New communication alliances with influencers and private partners are signed.
Ã ' Journalists regularly attend UNHCRÃ 's workshops.
Ã ' UNHCR fulfills its communications obligations within inter-agency projects.
Qualifications and Experience
Ã ' BachelorÃ 's degree in Communication or Public Relations is required.
Ã ' Education / knowledge of fields related to Human Rights and Human Mobility will be an asset.
b. Work Experience
Ã ' At least three years of relevant experience in public / external relations, work with media outlets, development of communication campaigns.
Ã ' Experience working with Adobe programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere).
Ã ' Experience in fields related to human rights and human mobility will be an asset.
c. Key Competencies
Ã ' Fluency in English and Spanish
Ã ' Excellent writing and communication skills
Ã ' Computer skills in Office and Adobe
Ã ' Photography and video editing
Ã ' Ability to work in a multi-cultural organization
