Position Summary :

The Senior Production Engineer on the field is responsible for monitoring the production and injection of the wells in the area.

  • Making recommendations for production optimization and avoid production losses. Their scope is broad and encompasses expertise in different production artificial lift systems;
  • such as Waterflooding as a secondary recovery system, it includes analysis of water producing wells, injection system and injection wells (conventional / selective).

    Besides, the analysis of the lifting systems and surface facilities up to the delivery point.

  • A key point is the interaction with the different stakeholders, such as Operations department, Quito PE, supervising stimulations, operations with or without rigs;
  • interact with companies and / or business lines to expedite the services coordination, providing time and cost optimization.

    Similarly, he / she is responsible to agree with our partner, contractual and operational activities to be carried out in the wells.

    Roles and responsibilities (including, but not limited to) :

  • Comply with government laws, procedures and standards set by the company, ensuring that all QHSE risks that are part of operations are identified, understood and mitigated, in addition to outreach to contractor companies.
  • Accomplish operational integrity standards (Well Integrity, PSIM, SQ, etc).
  • Evaluate the inherent risks and mitigation actions of the activities under his / her responsibility.
  • Report all Service Quality events with the correct analysis in accordance with our standards and active participation in SQ events investigation
  • Monitor and verify the action plans of the reported events and timely close assigned actions including the evidence of closure.
  • Explore new technologies / techniques applicable to quality improvement of the activities in charge.
  • Participate in the performance evaluation of contractors or third parties.
  • Actively participate in Major Hazard Identification exercises (MAHID), Hazard Analysis exercises (HAZOP), identification of Safety Critical Measurement (Critical Tasks, Critical Elements, Critical Equipment).
  • Report technical decisions to management and advise leaders on the technical impact of projects based on each of the standards and their area of influence.
  • Analyze production / injection and their respective operating parameters on the field. Considering fluid level, pressures, productivity and keep updated the well performance curve (IPR).
  • Furthermore, must be aware of the rigless operations (stimulations, cleanings, pump changes, Slickline, solvent pumping), WO operations (correlations, perforation, fractures, starts, spin test, logs, etc.

    in order to anticipate actions that complement and support such activities.

  • Evaluate current completions of existing wells and identify differences between well potential and current production.
  • Identify and maintain the portfolio of optimization candidates and prepare technical justifications and proposals for these opportunities.
  • Perform monitoring and updating of artificial lift system parameters integrating your vision with the reservoir monitoring team, facilities and production operations.
  • Participate with technical input on workover and completion design for new wells.
  • Identify, design, and supervise the appropriate artificial lift system for WO and new wells.
  • Review tickets and services for business lines involved.
  • Maintain updated database of simulations and operating curves for all artificial lift systems installed in the field.
  • Technical and coordination link between Quito’s departments and field’s Partner's members.
  • Review Capex, Opex and Rigless operation summaries to delivery to our partner.
  • Prepare and review Rigless programs, as well as coordination of services and operations.
  • Control PTA (Annual Work Program) costs in accordance with the current contract.
  • Preparation of daily and monthly reports, WO tracking and frequency increases forms and minutes of meetings with our partner.
  • Education and Knowledges :

    Education : Petroleum, Mechanical, Electronic or Industrila Engineer or others related.

    Languages : Fluent Spanish, Intermediate to advanced English

    Knowledge :

  • Standards applicable to this discipline, environmental and state regulation standards inherent to the activity being executed.
  • Artificial Lift Systems.
  • Microsoft office packages (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Management of budgets and financial indicators.

  • Drilling, Completion and Workover operations.

  • Production surveillance, control of losses and deferred production.
  • Database and statistical analysis management.
