  • Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama

  • Carry out formal workplace inspections on a routine basis.
  • Ensure work is executed in compliance with H&S, quality and environmental standards and procedures.
  • Adherence to IT policies and processes to ensure consistent quality of service and responsiveness.
  • The position has overall responsibility for the "blueprint" or technology architecture that drives the BI and
  • analytics service.

  • Collaborate with analytics specialists, information management staff, BI consultants and business area analysts.
  • Develop and recommends solutions and strategies for technical solutions based on the analysis of
  • business goals, objectives, needs and existing systems infrastructure.

  • Influence information strategy : By partnering with business unit leadership, and through the rationalization of
  • the information value chain, the BI Technical Lead will provide strategic recommendations to maximize the value

    of information assets via their creation,access and use.

  • Enable enterprise information management : Ensure that the architecture is used as a lens and a filter to identify,
  • prioritize and execute the BI, data and analytic initiatives with clear line of sight to Cobre Panama's strategies and business outcomes.

  • Foster value creation using the organization's data assets. This includes aiding value creation through data exploitation, envisioning data-enabled strategies, as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through BI, analytics, data and analytics governance, and enterprise information policy.
  • Responsible for involving resources outside of Operations when necessary to resolve incidents (third party providers, consultants, Group IT, etc).
  • Leads a team of DBA and Data Warehouse experts, assigns and prioritize tasks based on business requirements.
  • Liaise between the infrastructure and the business, aiding one to understand the other and to provide a vehicle through which the business and technical teams can effectively communicate.

  • Ensure that ICT - delivered services and end-user productivity goals area understood and exceeded.
  • Consider cost saving measures without compromising service delivery.

  • Act as deputy for colleagues as required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Education

  • A Tertiary qualification in Computer or Engineering.
  • Post Graduate studies highly regarded
  • Expert knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Certification in industry middleware applications and service management disciplines (ITIL, COBIT)
  • Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal and teaming skills to work collaboratively within an ICT team and all stakeholders.
  • Strength in production of thorough and concise functional and design specifications as well as easily readable end
  • user documentation

  • Strong ability to adhere to standards, work with limited supervision, and meet deadlines for service delivery.
  • Business domain, data / content and process understanding (which are as important as the technical skills).
  • Ability to work to a high standard under pressure in a sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, preferably in large or international environments.
  • Experienced as Data Warehousing, Data Lakes and Data marts designer and implementer in the analysis, design, hands-on
  • development, delivery and troubleshooting.

  • Hands-on working experience of Business Process Management.
  • Hands-on working experience on MS SQL integration services.
  • Proven experience communicating face to face with customers collecting requirements and implementation details, implementing
  • solutions, and providing technical support.

  • Experience with MS SQL Integration Services and Power BI
  • Experience in Business Intelligence projects.
  • Language

    Fluency in English and Spanish
