Reporting to the Director Human Resources, this role is seen as including the following :
Ensure the availability of appropriate medical and health services to all FQML Employees, their dependents and associated communities .
Provide direction and leadership for the FQML Health Care processes.
Develop policy and procedures for internal and external service providers and other health related processes.
Develop and audit procedures in the execution of the Departments goals
Develop and maintain section plan, for approval by the leadership team, including budget, facilities, equipment, skills, personnel, contracts
Source and develop contracts with service providers in conjunction with Commercial Managers
Source and arrange audit contracts for health related programs (internal and external)
Manage the Special Projects Coordinator (Special Projects include HIV, Malaria, Rabies, Workers Compensation, Dust Diseases)
Liaise with Resource Optimization Managers and Commercial Managers with regards to policy, procedures, collection of data, and management of contractors.
Collect and interpret health care data to assist with program planning and management.
Provide guidance for General Managers and Resource Optimization staff regarding health related issues not covered by policy provided.
Working with the Legal department and Labour relations department, Uupdate and audit health insurance provisions and life insurance policies to ensure equitability, accessibility, and cost management.
Liaise with Government departments where necessaryDevelop relationship that supports the goals of the department with Mitradel, Dept of Health, Socual Security.
Oversee any clinic or other health service infrastructure designs.
In conjunction with the Safety Dept develop a risk management approach to pre employment medicals, environmental health, return to work and exit medicals
Develop working relationships with all Dept Managers to support wellness approach to employee management
Lead, train an ddevelop your team in the needs of contemporary wellness management practices that support the goals of the business
The incumbent will have :
A degree in a health related field .
Postgraduate training or significant experience in health administration.
Experience in epidemiology and or management of communicable diseases.
Experience in working with medical and health disciplines towards the delivery of good health care to a working population and
the associated communities.
A background in nursing or a public health / occupational physician with experience in the provision of health care to remote
demonstrated success in team leadership including individual development
capacity to manage ambiguity
strong problem solving and judgement skills
demonstrated capacity to influence strategy or thinking and then be able to implement
