Summary :

The Operations implementation project leader role will manage a high priority / impact project for Cabosse Naturals. The person will take the lead in designing and deploying a new operation model directly starting from cacao fruits transforming into specialty ingredients.

It will be the responsibility of the project manager to deliver on time and within budget. This position will play a vital role in the success of a business critical program.

The role includes management of the assigned project with various stakeholders, owning the underlying process : meetings, workstream reviews, documentation, project planning, issue management (to ensure the deliverables are implemented to plan), production planning and outsourcing.

The scope for the projects include capital investment, business re-engineering, process reconfiguration and footprint reconfiguration, supplier & contractor management and other transactions.

The project will focus on strategic segments that will be lead by the role holder :

  • Designing a cost efficient modular cacao fruit transformation operation to receive, store and process the cacao fruits
  • Implement cacao fruit transformation process at a central location in Ecuador
  • Raw materials transformation into cacao fruit ingredients : Define and implement process to transform raw materials into the desired cacao fruit ingredients (pulp ingredients, cascara flour and fermented beans) by own processing or by co-manufacturing and transport the ingredients to final warehousing.
  • Coordinate R&D fermentation trials for fine flavor development and implement process
  • Business case set up. Work out OPEX, CAPEX, working capital, headcount
  • Essential Functions :

  • Manage and implement priority business project in Ecuador to set-up a new cacao fruit operation model with a focus on pulp, husk and beans
  • Take responsibility for and action overall day-day management of this project and monitor progress against defined KPIs, reporting to the project leadership team and lead / manage the strategic pillars
  • Identify and define action plans to support the project aims, maximising the customer value creation and optimising our scarce resources (people, time, systems and processes), all in a changing and highly complex environment
  • Structure activities and actions within the project, challenging and supporting the individual project leaders & facilitating the execution of the priority project plans, in tight deadlines, in a pragmatic and professional manner
  • Develop and produce project(s) (milestone) and risk mitigation plans, presentation materials, status reports, as needed, for different management meetings, workshops, leadership needs, not being afraid to roll-up sleeves to make things happen
  • Work closely together with cross-business stakeholders and support functions, acting as an interface for the program and work streams
  • Work closely together with the Global R&D team translating fermentation knowledge into process implementation

    Education & Work Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a Master degree in Business or equivalent, a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in preferably food industrial sector(s), mixed with a few years in operations & supply chain
  • Has done multiple projects ideally in the food sector
  • Business experience in supply chain and sourcing model for raw materials and / or ingredients
  • Proven change and program / project management experience, demonstrated in line-roles in industry
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, with a hands-on and pragmatic mind-set
  • Strong team-working skills, with proven ability to influence and communicate with stakeholders across functions and at all levels, ideally in multi-cultural environments
