Job Summary.-

The role of the technician is to support the data-processing environment of Barry Callebaut North America. This includes assisting in the planning, installation, configuration, maintenance and optimization of equipment and software while minimizing the downtimes.

The technician must also analyze, diagnose, solve and document problems as they occur.

Main focus is on region North America, but being a member of the Corporate IT team he (she) contributes to the new developments, improvements and maintenance efforts for the entire group.

He (she) must be available for other responsibilities, projects and assignments and willing to participate in the general user support effort.

Technical Support Functions

  • Provide IT Primary Helpdesk services for Ecuador area facilities
  • Provide as needed support to remote laptop users and other BC facilities remotely
  • Provide as needed support for local Audio / Video equipment
  • Provide as needed support for Samsung Smartphones to cellular users
  • Provide basic training to new employees on how to use Cisco IP Phones, Google Apps, network software, network printers, voicemail and other resources.
  • Configure, install and maintain Dell desktops / laptops, HP / Canon printers, monitors, Samsung Smartphones, Cisco IP phones, and all underlying peripherals and software as needed.
  • Create network accounts for new users by Windows Active Directory.
  • Reset user passwords as needed
  • Address user service request via Remedy Ticketing system
  • Provide periodic on-call and after hours support on a rotation basis
  • Technical Support Functions

  • 2 to 4 years work experience in IT providing helpdesk support in an office environment
  • College or technical school studies in related field a plus but not required
  • Experience in support of Windows 10, Windows 7, MS Office Products,
  • Experience in support of Gmail & Google Apps environment is a plus
  • Experience providing support in both wired and wireless environments
  • Experience with Software installations and Virus removals
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory required
  • Experience providing remote support to users required
  • Willingness to build up knowledge in Barry Callebaut specific tools
  • Excellent people, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently without constant supervision
  • Ability to take ownership of a project from start to finish
  • Ability to continually learn, work and keep up in a very fast paced and continually changing environment
  • Must be willing to travel to Ecuador area facilities as needed.
  • Must speak and understand English.
