We envision a world where people and nature thrive in harmony. In January 2018, the Rainforest Alliance merged with UTZ, a global program, and label for sustainable farming.
2. CONSULTANCY DESCRIPTION
The Certification Partner Support Consultant will facilitate training workshops, develop training materials and provides guidance for certificate holders and local key stakeholders in Ecuador.
Facilitate the transition of Certificate Holders (CHs), from the current standards to the new Rainforest Alliance 2020 certification standard, with support through training and specific support activities in coordination with approved ATNs in Ecuador.
Provide support our CHs, according to their needs (certification program).
Implementation of the necessary actions to safeguard the credibility of our certification program.
Monitor other activities related to the intervention of the Rainforest Alliance Certification Program.
Provide feedback to the Standards and Assurance team on interpretation and auditability challenges.
Participate in Ecuadorian sector platforms related to the implementation of the Rainforest Alliance certification program.
4. DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY
The consultant must present the methodology that is most efficient to achieve the objective and products, which will be reviewed and approved by RA.
It is expected that the consultancy will generate the following deliverables :
6. SELECTION CRITERIA
Experience and studies in a field related to agriculture, natural resources.
Minimum work experience of 5 years. Considerable experience in the banana and cocoa sectors and in the management of certification programs such as Rainforest Alliance, Globalgap or TESCO.
Considerable knowledge of the country's main certified sector in the different RA-certified chains or products, mainly cocoa, bananas, flowers but also mango, passion fruit, pineapples, tea and avocado.
Knowledge and commitment to environmental issues and sustainability practices.
Proven experience in training and capacity building for adults.
Knowledge of extension methodologies.
Be familiar with auditing and certification processes.
Proven track record in the development of training materials.
Languages : Spanish (native), English (proficient in verbal and writing)
Technical Skills : Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills
Skills in foreign languages : verbal prof dominion and written in English (desirable).
General Work Skills : Strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact culturally, linguistically and diplomatically with various internal and external people.
Initiative, motivated, ingenious, detail oriented, reliability, great attention to detail.
Available for travel to rural areas of Ecuador.
Skills in the management of digital tools and platforms.
