Responsibilities

This technician, working in discontinuous service for the day, is responsible, under the authority of the power plant superintendent and his deputy in the quality of boiler water (decriminalized water, boiler makeup water, feed water, steam) of the water present in the circuits of the air coolers and the closed cooling water circuit (CCW).

In this context :

He ensures the proper operation of measurement channels or online analysis. If necessary, it recalibrates the apparatus deviation,

conducts the necessary sampling for analysis according to established programs (daily, weekly, monthly, etc ...),

He analyzes the samples, notes the observed values and records them for monitoring purposes on the appropriate media,

He interprets the values and get validate its results by the process & environmental engineer. He launches or procures the resulting adjustments (the purge flow adjustment, injection settings metering pumps ...),

he informs shift teams of the variations when there is deviation with the allowable values, he gives instructions to follow to return to acceptable values optimize on time,

he follows, in cooperation with the process engineer and Environment, the consumption of different chemicals (reagents, treatment products, etc .

He anticipates the " PURCHASE SERVICE " the replacement products before go out of stock.

He manages, in cooperation with the process engineer and Environment, the disposal of waste from the laboratory,

He guarantees the storage condition and cleanliness of the facilities he is responsible of and take action to correct all abnormal situation,

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Excellent understanding of the operational requirements for a large plant process or utility scale power plant particularly in regards to safety, reliability, and dispatched operation.

Demonstrated proficiency in a leadership role for the startup and commissioning activities related to new construction or extensive rebuilds of utility scale power plants of this size and complexity.

5 years or more satisfactory experience in a power plant daily Operations.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Previous extended tours of work in man camp / remote access locations.

Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, scheduling, and work planning programs of some type.

Good English communication skills; Spanish working knowledge as a minimum, fluency preferred.

Experience working within multi-cultural environments a definite plus.
