About the Front End Engineer (Trainee) Position

As part of our Apprenticeship Program, you will be trained to build world-class applications using Digital Experience Platforms (DXP) and Cloud Services using the latest front end technology stacks. By the end of our six-month program, you will learn everything you need to develop the front end application of real client projects, from the basics of working in a digital agency, to writing semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript code on Digital Experience Platforms.

The Front End Engineer track will train you on how to develop smartly architected web applications that utilize cutting-edge technology using industry-level best practices. You will learn our agile methodology, necessary for the development of digital projects and the rules to be observed in Accessibility, GDPR Compliance, W3C Standards, and Security Awareness. 

The right candidate for this position is passionate about new technology, loves to code and continuously pushes themselves to learn new things. An understanding of semantics, accessibility, front end build tools, ES6/React, and working with an API is a huge plus.


  • Learn and develop your skills as a front end engineer.
  • Contribute a unique perspective and creative approach to solving problems at Verndale.
  • Under the mentorship and guidance of our seasoned Verndale engineers, produce high-quality code following best practices
  • Work very closely with your team to maintain the highest possible level of communication surrounding the engineering and the project development process.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • An understanding of front end technology (webpack, yarn, react, es6, etc...)
  • An understanding of functional or object-oriented programming
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Effective communication, including the ability to translate and explain technical issues to non-technical team members 
  • Availability to work up to 30 hours per week, from July to December of 2022
