One of the nation’s premier cellular providers is searching to find their Vice President Partner Marketing. This successful candidate has a proven track record of delivering results and possesses an expert level knowledge of partner marketing strategies across a variety of distribution channels including retail / e-tail, service providers, financial services partners, and strategic alliances.
The candidate will be responsible for B2B and B2B2C go-to-market strategy and should have expert knowledge of partner acquisition channels including partner digital, crm / database, social, print, direct mail, retail, field marketing, retail merchandising and promotions, call-centers, and events.
This position will build and lead an internal team charged with expanding partner marketing opportunities with existing partners, as well as developing new distribution opportunities through strategic partnerships and alliances.
This is a critical role for an experienced partner marketing leader who thrives on delivering results in a fast paced environment.
Responsible for customer acquisition through distribution partners to drive various goals, including new customer acquisition, cross sell and retention.
Accountable and Responsible to ensure marketing strategy and investments align with business goals. Align return on partner marketing investments with overall budget, cost of acquisition and profitability of the company P&L.
This position will also serve to identify and grow new partnership opportunities, working closely with Sales leadership to build a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and win new partnerships.
The VP works collaboratively with marketing leaders in direct-to-consumer, brand strategy, digital, web experience and CRM to ensure business goals and KPIs are met.
Cross-functionally, the Vice President Partner Marketing coordinates with inside sales, retail, product and customer experience departments.
This individual is highly data-driven and can synthesize a robust and best-in-class toolkit to measure and optimize partner channel performance.
Owns Partner Marketing strategy to drive efficient new customer growth through establishing the business case for investments to drive partner and company business goals (growth, profitability, quality, etc.)
Builds and ramps-up a world-class Partner Marketing team capable of driving growth through new and existing partners
Analysis and execution of all partner campaign / GTM strategies including media planning, media mix, channel allocations and measurement tools
Acquire new partners working collaboratively with Sales leadership in developing extraordinary partner pitches that demonstrate the unique partnership value proposition
Develop and drive channel marketing strategy and create scalable solutions to acquire prospects, nurture leads, and onboard new partnerships
Develop partner creative strategy, industry segmentation, audience targeting, and measurement and analytics to optimize channel effectiveness
Align business objectives with partner marketing strategy and optimizations to ultimately flow through to execution team, ensuring all are laddering up to the same goals and KPIs
Partner closely with product teams to ensure a compelling partner value proposition
Partner closely with market insights and analytics teams to develop deep knowledge of the partner’s target audience, the effectiveness of marketing programs, competitive landscape and opportunities
Builds team and manages team development. Responsible for hiring, performance management, of team members
Requirements & Experience
BS degree in business, marketing or related field
10+ years building and leading partner marketing teams across multiple industry verticals including technology, retail / e-tail, OEM, global service providers / telcos, subscription services, co-marketing / affinity / associations, insurance, and financial services.
Track record of partner marketing experience working directly with AARP, Sam’s Club / Costco, Walmart / Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Target, and other channel partners
Experience managing partner marketing budget of $20M+ to drive growth of the business while delivering Media and Partner channel efficiency
5+ years CPG sales and customer marketing experience for Fortune 500 brands, selling into National Retailers including Walmart / Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon, Sam’s Club / Costco, Office Depot / Staples, etc.
Demonstrated track record of partnering with Sales Leadership to drive results
10+ years supervisory experience with internal staff and external vendors
3+ years Field Marketing, Events, and Retail Merchandising experience
Highly analytical and can build partner marketing strategies based on Business plans
Has strong understanding of various digital and non-digital media platforms while have a good understanding of all other B2B and B2C demand generation channels
Experience with Sales and Partner channel tech-stack including Salesforce, CRM platforms such as Hubspot and Eloqua
Excellent strategic vision, team leadership and team development / mentoring skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
