Summary description :
The fundraising, sponsorship, and marketing manager is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan designed to achieve the organization's financial sustainability, through international sponsorship, local fundraising with long-term strategies and business development.
Responsible for leading the effective planning, implementation, execution, monitoring / sharing of the results of actions undertaken with a focus on resource mobilization, Marketing, Sponsorship, Acquisition of new donors and Donor / sponsor retention.
Work directly with the Country Director in the preparation of strategic planning and operational plans, acting as responsible for the control and analysis of risks in the area's processes, observing the guidelines for Safeguarding Children.
Responsibilities : Strategic Management
Identification, selection and performance management of staff and vendors to meet operational and funding needs. Includes ongoing vendor management and vendor change processes as required.
Ensure that the organization develops the strong partnerships needed for fundraising and sponsor retention.
Responsible for developing the business plan and resource mobilization planning ensuring that the annual operating plan is executed.
Manage sponsorship Annual Operating Plan and Budget to ensure participation in organizational initiatives as well as advance country-level strategic initiatives.
Responsible for the managerial and technical leadership to maintain and improve the quality of fundraising and sponsorship.
Champions the voice of sponsorship (sponsors and children) in all SMT (Senior Management Team) level discussions.
Advances a continuous improvement approach to sponsorship processes and procedures within the Country Office and with Local Partners to improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
Promotes existing promising practices that advance the quality child-sponsor relationships.
Leads efforts to improve the children’s experience within sponsorship and promotes a dynamic and engaging experience for donors to promote retention on both ends.
Explores and executes new avenues to test / pilot engaging, innovative and creative sponsorship experiences for all stakeholders.
Responsible for attracting companies and holding meetings focused on corporate donations with potential partners and managing this donation within ChildFundEcuador, aligning with key areas the management and conduct of donations;
Ensure funding for social priorities including special projects, programs, geographic expansion, emergencies, among others.
Ensure the good management of the brand for attraction, retention and donations from individuals and companies.
Responsible for special resource mobilization events.
Responsible for supervising administrative, financial and human resources in the fundraising and marketing area.
Lead the Marketing, Sponsorship and fundraising area, developing new individual acquisition and retention strategies.
Lead the mapping and identification of current potential donors, assessing their demographic profile, developing maintenance strategies, developing donor capacity and acquiring individuals.
Identify and implement opportunities for ChildFund Ecuador to increase its number of corporates allies through additional channels (Marketing Intelligence).
Analyze the campaigns / operations so that ChildFund Ecuador is able to assess the success of marketing activities and from there, plan its next ventures more effectively.
Select the most appropriate channels, squares, and communication vehicles to publicize the campaigns.
Intermediate negotiations with suppliers or communication and marketing vehicles to find the best cost with a focus on Resource Mobilization.
Implement, together with the leadership of the Regional Communications Manager, an effective national marketing strategy consistent with the main intention of the organization, main results of the area of excellence and strategic directions.
Coordinate with the Regional Communications Officer the execution of the different objectives established annually in the Regional Operational Plan.
Remain alert and responsive to any risk to child protection. Acquire relevant knowledge and skills that enable you to promote strong safeguards practices, understand the policy and procedures, and behave in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguard Policy.
Leads the National Office’s Grant Acquisition and Management efforts; responsible for the NO institutional GAM capacity development to increase grant portfolio.
Ensure the quality of proposals, operational and financial aspects in collaboration with the relevant Program and Finance staff;
ensure best practice is communicated, followed, and shared in all aspects of grants management.
Supports the development and maintenance of effective relationships with current and prospective donors. Provides appropriate and timely feedback to ensure management is fully informed of grant project progress and success with all new and existing donors.
Responsible for co-leading discussions (in collaboration with the Senior Management Team) on strategic enrollment / quota management as well as our geographic presence in a country for entry, growth, prioritization, mergers and phasing out (subject to RO / IO approvals).
Proactively seeks out and co-designs opportunities to integrate sponsorship engagement, operations and processes with Programs to ensure efficient and effective ways forward, advocating and considering the child and sponsor’s experiences.
Primary sponsorship liaison to the International, Regional and Alliance Offices
Participates in strategic discussions with other sponsorship organization thought leaders within the country, regional and global level to identify cutting-edge customer engagement opportunities.
Facilitates the documentation and cross-sharing of promising practices at a country, regional and global level.
Coordinates and hosts any VIP visits from sponsors, donors, marketing, philanthropy, etc.
Supports the use of integrated systems to track child-sponsor relationships along with other organizational drivers such as child well-being, impact, accountability, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Collects daily reports through ChildFund SR field staff to learn more about the situation of the enrolled population.
Report on enrolled children s status in the Situation Report that will be shared by the Communications area.
Gives priority of response to all direct requests from sponsors, through Alliances or the International (If possible, include pictures of the sponsored children in question)
Liaise with the local partners and RO / IO for the ongoing status of enrolled / sponsored children
Lead person for NERT (National Emergency Response Team) in fundraising in coordination with the Regional Grant Manager and fundraising,
Includes Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Response in the Resources Mobilization Plan, and mapping of potential donors
Establish positive relationships with all appropriate donors.
Supports NERT in the development of quality project concepts and proposals in collaboration with the International Office, Regional Office.
Higher education in Marketing, Publicity and Advertising, Administration, Business and related areas.
Specialization or MBA in the area.
Skills and Abilities :
Advanced knowledge of MS OFFICE computer.
Domain of oral and written Spanish and English.
High level of verbal resourcefulness.
Skills in managing people and teamwork.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, knowing how to listen, argue, cooperate and take initiative.
Have a more strategic vision and know-how to play multiple roles.

Knowledge and technical experience demonstrated in areas such as : sponsorship. marketing, communication, fundraising and resource mobilization
Highly developed analytical skills and ability to assimilate and process information on a wide range of issues.
Training needs and experiences :
Minimum seven years’ experience in the area, highly desirable experience in the third sector.
7 years of proven experience in sponsorship and in developing successful fundraising initiatives and building relationships and strategic alliances.
Experience in Direct Marketing, desirable knowledge in grants proposals development, fundraising or individual giving for the third sector
Experience and knowledge in strategy design and management.
Experience in individual acquisition and retention techniques.
Need for frequent updating in the area to expand possibilities, learn about trends and new tools
Participation in lectures and workshops related to the area, desirable focus on the third sector
Project management experience to pilot / test initiatives
Customer service attitude to troubleshoot and resolve issues at the child and donor end.
Good understanding of sponsorship operations and workflows, programming integration, and sponsorship policies and standards preferred.
Demonstrated experience with children and youth in a child development organization.
