Operational Excellence Head

The Operational excellence manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement activities supporting the site in reaching its full potential and bringing the site to the next Operational excellence maturity level.

This section contains a list of primary responsibilities of this role that account for 90% or more of the work. The incumbent will perform other duties assigned.

Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams empowered to execute the OPEX strategy in the site. Facilitate continuous improvement events (such as workshops, kaizens, projects) to execute the OPEX program.

  • Develop presentations to summarize findings and propose recommendation
  • Participate in Strategic Planning & Deployment process to define priorities and align with business measures
  • Demonstrate expertise in Continuous Improvement Methodologies, such as Lean / Six Sigma and TPM, with knowledge and usage of statistical applications
  • Work with sites & training teams to deliver targeted OPEX training and demonstrate use of Lean / Six Sigma and TPM concepts.
  • Assess, coach and provide constructive feedback to team to strengthen competencies and promote systems level thinking.
  • Support standardization of processes and continuous improvement training materials.
  • Organize events / workshops to drive knowledge transfer and sharing of good manufacturing and best demonstrated practices.
  • Lead, coach, and participate in activities promoting improved end-to-end process design and delivery of regional / site metrics.
  • Monitor GO Business Operating system progress and participate in site improvement assessments.
  • Analyze results and engage with sites to develop and ensure follow-through on improvement plans.
  • Identify and work with teams in the Value Stream.
  • Qualifications :

    Previous operations experience (manufacturing, supply chain, maintenance ) is strongly recommended.

  • Expertise in leading continuous improvement activities in a manufacturing environment is required. Experienced in Pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
  • Experience driving OPEX transformations, Lean & Six Sigma Projects and TPM deployment to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

    Examples of leaded projects and savings will be requested. Strong process engineering and data analysis skills required.

    Must have advanced skills with Excel and PowerPoint and be skilled in the use of mini-tab tools. Experience implementing Lean management system.

    Project Management Experience Lean Six Sigma Black belt certification is strongly recommended, LSS Green Belt certification as minimum.

    Engineering degree required. English (fluent) mandatory. 4-8 years of continuous improvement leadership implementing Lean and Six Sigma or other OPEX transformations.

    Srrong team builder, mentor and coach with influential leadership competencies

  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills (drive change without having direct reports on team)
  • Strong leadership to empower teams on critical thinking, challenge status quo and implement improvements.
