This responsibility is accomplished by providing leadership and mentorship to the project team. As a Project Manager : Road Construction, you will be responsible for forecasting monthly cash flow to ensure that all company and reporting requirements are met including scheduling and forecasting, financial reporting and health and safety.
This position is based in Edmonton, but may require flexibility to work in other locations in Alberta.ResponsibilitiesAs a Project Manager : Road Construction you will be responsible for : Safety LeadershipLead the business with the utmost focus on health and safetyProactively implement Lafarge best practices, engage with all levels of employees in this regard and ensure that personnel are actively seeking out real time solutions to identified risksAccountable for Health and Safety of all employees and subcontractorsManagement and Human ResourcesManage all project staff and subcontractorsProvide support and mentoring for personnel on projectsProvide leadership and direction to Superintendents, Foreman, field crews, consultants, subcontractorsTechnical OperationsAssist with, and review, tenders and proposalsResponsible for all environmental aspects on projects Assign personnel to projects in collaboration with SuperintendentsOversee the allocation of people and equipment in collaboration with SuperintendentsResponsible for timely monthly progress reports for invoicing and submits to accountingAttend and participate in weekly site meetings to ensure compliance to contract specifications submitted scheduling and quality standardsProvide project support in resolving contractual disputesIn conjunction with management, accountable for managing the project budgetAdminister subcontract agreements and ensure complianceProcurement of materials and payment of invoicesConduct pre : construction meetings with all pertinent partiesIdentify any sub : contractors that are restricted (Red / Amber) in Avetta and work with Operations / Contract Admin to rectify the restrictionCreation of RFIsDirect liaison with owner / consultant and fieldSolicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractorsAcquire appropriate documentation for the tender / proposalSpecific AccountabilitiesDevelop long : term relationships with clientsMay be required to manage multiple projects at one timeForecasting monthly cash flow to ensure that all company and reporting requirements are met including scheduling and forecasting, financial reporting and health and safetyCompute cost factors and prepare estimates, bids and proposals used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work and determining cost effectiveness;
lay out and traffic control plans with rentals, vendors or subcontractorsResponsible for providing additional pricing, change orders, extra work ordersTrack the overall progression of workResponsible and accountable for tracking and reporting on overall project costsCreate and oversee the project scheduleConsult with clients, vendors, subcontractors or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates, organize and manage contracts and resolve issues.
