NCBA CLUSA is currently seeking 2 (1- remote US volunteer and 1- volunteer based in Ecuador) qualified Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer candidates for the position of Financial Planning and Analysis Expert to support Asociación Agroartesanal de Productores de Café de Altura Puyango (PROCAP) based in Puyango, Ecuador.
PROCAP was formed by coffee growers who faced low prices in 2000 and knew they could have better incomes if they sold associatively.
Growing associatively also helped PROCAP’s farmers overcome a fungus in coffee plants that spread through the area and caused many other growers to lose their farms.
Now, PROCAP has grown and sells their coffee abroad and domestically. In addition, their goals are to improve their decision making and planning for the association.
PROCAP’s Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee want to have a better understanding of their financial documents and how to use these documents to make decisions.
All newly acquired knowledge of financial and accounting management should equip these representatives to make better decisions for the association.
